I was talking to a buddy, and he was telling me how he mixes dextrose in with his PWO shake. I was reading up about it and I see how its really good when you are trying to build muscle, but I'm still cutting and was wondering if I should consider doing this or not.

I have a second question about going to the bathroom. I drink a gallon and day and seems like I go piss like every 45 min-1hr, but as far as pooing I am only going like EOD and was wondering what I can do to fix this. Idk if me starting to take ECA has something to do with it.

For dextrose to really be effective for PWO i think u need about 75g???? Which in my opinion makes the shake sickening sweet. I better choice is Waxy Maize (research it some). I use two scoops of this (60grams) and add about 20 grams of dextrose to it. BUt I mix this up in water and a little crystal light. Drink this immediately after workout to no later than 30 minutes. wait about 15 minutes and then have your protein shake. insulin is the most anabolic substance. it works kind of like a transporter. it takes all those nutrients and drives them into the cells. after working out is when our muscles are most insulin sensitive. your muscles are also screaming for glycogen replenishment. in short it is very important for building muscle and even when cutting to save muscle (though it is possible to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time). do a little research on nutrient timing.

as far as the urination this is normal. 2 things come to mind about your infrequent bowel movements: 1) lack of fiber in the diet, 2) u r going very calorie deficient on this "cutting" phase of yours. i wouldnt worry too much about it unless u r constipated. when u bring your cals back up the frequency will return.

Sweet, thanks a lot for the info, real helpful. As far as calories, I could be eating about 2600 cals a day and still cut, but I find that anywhere btw 1700-2000 fills me up for the night.

Last thing, is waxy maize purchasable at a grocery store or do i have to go to a supplement store?

online for the best price though some supp stores may have it. none in my town did. it would really have to be a bb supp store for it to be there. GNC certainly doesnt carry it.
 
8and20, Just wondering about how you said take carbs immediatly PWO then protein 15 mins after. Why not have the Protein and cabrs in the one shake together?
Whats the importance there? and will I notice much of a diffrence if doing it?

And say If Im in the gym for around 2 hours or a bit more. Not working out the entire time ovcasoe but Slow inbetween sets.
And I have a meal atleast half and our to and hour before hand. Is all that time with out protein that good?

Whats the importance there? Do u mean what is the importance of carbs or timing of when u take PWO food? and will I notice much of a diffrence if doing it? My gains have always been good but I find I get even better gains doing this. Every little piece of the puzzle matters. Perhaps the Casein shake at night is not a big deal by itself, perhaps the 2g or protein per bodyweight is not a big deal by itself, perhaps waiting an hour after your workout is not a big deal by itself, etc,etc etc. I hope u c where I am taking this. The sum is greater than the pieces. But if u start getting everything "right" it makes a big impact imo.

There are a couple of ways to combat this. 1) Have some protein from a casein source (cottage cheese or powder) in your preworkout so u have the contstant slow release of protein. 2) Have a BCAA, high glycemic sugar, protein drink mix to sip on throughout this 2 hour period.
