I've been to Harpo's just once. The area is pretty shitty from what I saw. Most of the surrounding establishments looked shitty. But the hotel might be decent. Hey man, I might be there too. I didn't even know they were coming anytime soon.

Right on! I'm in Cinci so we will make the drive that morning. We were going to fly to Vegas on and see BLS on March 12th until we saw they were going to be in Detroit. If you get tickets we will have to meet up at Harpo's and drink some beers.

My sister take care of all of Marsh Corporation's foreign relations, so she is getting us a box for the concert. Marsh is one of the biggest chain of supermarkets in the Midwest and own half the boxes at Conseco. Thanks for the heads up though.

as for the area... and hotel.. i'd say you'd be better off going further on 94 past 8 mile and get a halfway decent hotel... but thats just me, i dont like bugs.

I was too scared to even get out of my car at a well lighted gas station to ask for directions to get back on the highway. If I were you I wouldn't stay anywhere near downtown Detroit area.

very common misconception... downtown is a decent area, it's the surrounding area that is shit... downtown itself is awesome, lots of police, lots of walking traffic...
