detour by next protien

soop

New member
Hey has anyone else tried these? they are by the same people that make shit what are they ... i dunno but they make the whoppers flavour standard protien bar ... all I know is these detour things are killer, bit heavy on the carbs but damn ...

Not to be a dick but I remember a thread here, or another board in which it was stated that these bars were recalled because they didn't match their advertised pro\carb\fat gram levels.

My wife noticed them at the gym and said wow, that looks more like a Snickers bar then a protein bar. I thought back to when Pure Protein bars were recalled for the very same reason.

They were never recalled!!
Just one of those rumors that start when someone says 'this can't have just 21 grams of carbs'. Then the next person changes it to 'this doesn't have 21g of carbs and has been recalled for it'.

Bro, Im under the impression that they were recalled.
The GNC I work at is a franchise and we get about 20 boxes a week in from a 3rd party distributor. We didnt get them last week and the reason was that the label claims were off.
If you look at the Bars when they first came out, they had 32 grams of protein and 290 kcals, the more recent ones then claimed that the bars had 310 kcals and only 30 grams of protein, as well as an increase in fat from 8-10 grams. Apparently (now this is rumored from the distributor so it may not be fact) that the bars have only 25 grams of protein and are closer to 330-350 calories. They taste great, and i hope whatever possible label claims that may be off are corrected quickly.

When you have to cheat detour bars are a great way to do it.

Tjhey were good but the GNC store where i live charges 5.99 per bar.
A little over priced in my opinion.
And that is before the Canadian tax.

Hey, if I had to choose between the Detour bar or the Snickers, call me crazy but I'd take the Snickers!

Packed with peanuts, Snickers really satisfies...and who doesn't want satisfaction?!:D

dude those things are full of sugar, I can tell because I hardly ever have sugar and when i have one of those my blood sugar spikes and I want another one in like 30 minutes

I think these are some of the best damn things to ever hit protein supplements. These bars taste JUST LIKE SNICKERS. 30 grams of carbs and protein. I would eat these all day long if I could, and drink isopure zero carb! They were not recalled. I can buy them right here at the nutrition depot in Santa Ana next to South Coast Plaza.

I like snickers...and I like the Detour bar...but make no mistake--they don't taste "just like snickers." They are a good substitue/replacement when you are really having cravings, but just ask any chick who is PMS'ing and she'll tell you, it's not the same thing!

In all fairness, us girls probably have a keener sense of taste one week out of the month!!

:)

I gotta try the Uturns.....

My sister prefers these to the Detours, but I think they're a shade too sweet, and the texture of the "nougat" is kind of funny - which the the peanuts in the Detour cover up.

Detour

5.99 what the fuck down here they are only two dollars so someone is taking a fuckin somewhere. But yes they are good and given a choice between a detour and the shit a the local jiffy mart I dont care how off the label is it has got to be the better choice. But 5.99 sonof bitch what does a bottle of protein punch go for 8.99

I tried the U-Turn bar today...not bad, but as Ceebs stated, they are on the sweet side. Very good to satisfy a chocolate & caramel craving...very soft too.

I've been really getting into the Atkins Advantage bars...especially the peanut butter bars-->YUM! They have little to no sugar and plenty of protein (17-20g) AND fiber (10-11g)...all with minimal carbs (2-3 net). They are about 220-230 calories...not bad at all! BTW, they are sweetened with Splenda, which is supposed to be a better choice that the pink and blue stuff. They sell for $1.79 at Trader Joes. The S'mores flavor is really good too...

Geez, I love these bars!

If you look how much saturated fat is in them, you can see that they dont break it up and tell how much of what kinds of fat is inside of them. They use hydronated oils, which it says in the ingredients, the same oil that you can find in your fast food. They also use glycerin. Not a bar that will be entering my stomach anytime soon.

Try the Odyssey bar from Premier, almost as good but only three grams of sugar, as opposed to 12 for Detour. I don't think Dtour was ever recalled, but the packaging has been changed 3 times to reflect higher carbs and sugar, and lower protein. It's basically a candy bar for people that would like to think they are doing something good for themselves.

these bars are so evil :(

i don't diet or anything but i find myself addicted to these...its not even funny

we have a box at my house and it calls out to me

One Way Bar

From the makers of the Detour Bar from Next Nutrition comes the One Way bar....Leave it alone it is garbage. It has a high concentration of High Fructose in the caramel. It is a candy bar.

ONEWAY to a new state of taste

That's the whole idea with the Detour/One Way bar. A protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. I wouldn't eat 2-3 per day but one a day is going to hurt unless you are on a very strict diet. Next Nutrition's next bar will be the "Joy Ride" which will taste like a Almond Joy bar.

Squach....

Trio-o-plex bars are my absolute favorite.

Imo, they blow U-turn and Detour off the map(they're good, but to me they taste "fake").

Tri-o-pex are made with good shit..and taste phenomenal. My fave is the chocolate/coconut...I have tried the smores too..and its awesome as well.

I heard that the original guy that came up with the Detour bar left the company and they had problems after that. Had to reformulate it. A guy in the industry told me that.

I tried the odyssey bar this weekend. Really good for the low sugar content. Detour does have to much sugar for me.....
