depth of injection

Just had my 1st poke for my current cycle on Sat. All went smooth as usual until Sun. I felt a knot about the size of a quarter. It was red and hot to the touch. Never got any bigger than that. By Tues. morning it's just about gone w/ hardly any soreness. No heat or redness. The inj. was test and deca in my left glute. Question is, could this be attributed to the length of the needle? I have 23g x 1" left over from last time which is what I used. I'm thinking maybe it didn't get into the muscle deep enough. I don't think sterility should be a factor. I'm very anal about being clean while preparing as well as injecting. Your thoughts?

After you inj. you need to massage the site out, if you can do it in a hot bath go for it. 1" for glutes is a bit short for most ppl., so I would at least advise you to go 1 1/2" if you're doing glutes.
