Depo-Test and Insurance

Hey, I just thought I would pass this one out there on the boards - I was quite surprised when I went to pick up my depo-testosterone at my local pharmacy and I only paid $30.00 for it for a 10cc vial. It retailed at $107.79. I have ****(edited) with Prescription benefits and they covered it except for my co-pay. The pharmacy even gave me the syringes free. I had another physician call it in for me. I least I know I get the real stuff and got it at a great price. I was really quite surprised that insurance covered it.

YEAH ME TOO!!!

I filled a test script today and it retailed for 184.00 I was scared thinking they would not cover it because I beleived that they do not cover fertility stuff etc. They charged me my 25.00 copay only. I love little happy surprises like that.

how old are you all, what did you tell the doc to get them to perscribe the test.

only thing that sucks about all that is if/when you switch from 1 insur co to another it is counted against you, just as if you were a smoker...just a fyi

I suggest you edit the ins. name for the sake of those that get their goodies this way. Not saying that the ins. companies don't know about this method but this is just sound advice that was given to me back in the days. PM's or email

I edited the post based on your good advice. Even knowing it is a legit prescription for me. I am 36 years of age. Have you doc test serum testosterone and free testosterone levels in your body. If they are low, you will not have any trouble getting it. Generally, they start to decline around 30 yo. Sometimes ealier. I have more info for those interested which I cannot discuss on this board. I was going through a USA Compounding Pharmacy, that was charging $40 for compounded Test Cyp. To stay legal, it was a great price imo. Recently, they must've gotten in some hot water, because they will only prescribe now the Depo-Test, unless you can prove you are allergic to cotton-seed-oil, in which case you can get the compounded stuff. Now I have no options but to get the Depo, which is(as was stated) $103.00/10ml. Crazy.

For those of you wondering how to get on Depo-Test: You need to go to your doctor, have a Serum Testost. and Free Testost. done along with Hepatic Panel/Lipids and TSH (Thyroid) - this is all done by blood test. Many men in their 30's or older will have lower test. You will have no problem getting a script if your test is low.

I just found out my anavar is covered. Now that is good news!! Unfortunately, my insurance doesn't cover injectables, so, test is not.

Anavar (Ox) is FDA approved and can be used for HRT

Great post, thanks for the information. It feels good to be above board and legit now. I think more bodybuilders should push their doctors into providing appropriate medical care as you encouraged me to do, as this will remove the stigma, and change things more quickly. Enlightening thread, thank you very much. Deca, anavar and depot test can be prescribed in u.s. without too much trouble, the rest are iffy though. But if you can't meet you goals with those 3, ( and require more toxic drugs for reasonable gains) you probably don't need to lift. I think this would be a system/law we could live with, i.e. those 3 substances provided under a doctor's supervision.
