Hi:
I need some help with something here and I thought you guys could help me out. I started to lift weights in the school weight room like 4 months ago, I've already developed some muscles but I think they are not very well defined, what I really wanna do is tone them in general. I would specially like to do this with my abs, I can sort of see them but they are very flaccid for my taste and they kinda look like a tummy which I dont really like. So, my question is basically what should I do about this? can you guys please recommend me something? I'll really appreciate it. Thanks for your time

No such thing as toning. You grow or do not grow a muscle - it's that simple. Granted maybe you can condition it but that's not going to change how it looks or the layer of fat over it...which brings me to the main point, you look soft because you have fat over your muscles. This is all about diet and lowering your bodyfat levels. Given that there is no such thing as spot reduction, it's a long term plan and the areas where you are most predisposed to hold it will be the last ones to lose it completely.

Less calories in than you expend basically. You might check the diet forum, that's probably where you'll find you best info. This is kind of a massive topic to explain in a few quick sentances.

Cowballs has it right once again. Just hit the weights to make your muscles larger. Then start a cutting diet to lower the bodyfat. It is so, so hard to do at the same time. Some say it is impossible without AS. You have to get your diet strict. Without the diet, madcow is as big as me (and I'm a little guy :D ). DIET IS KEY!!!!!
