NEW YORK - A former FBI official says he was the source called "Deep Throat" who leaked secrets about President Nixon's Watergate coverup to The Washington Post, Vanity Fair reported Tuesday.

W. Mark Felt, 91, who was second-in-command at the FBI in the early 1970s, kept the secret even from his family until 2002, when he confided to a friend that he had been Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward's source, the magazine said.

But Woodward & Bernstein have admitted that there was no "Deep Throat", that was a composite character dreamed up in a meeting between them, their literary agent, and the guy from the movie studio who was negotiating buying the film rights before the book was published.

I saw Bob Woodward on a sunday morning talk show several months back saying that the identity of DT would be revealed upon the persons death.

Nixon was awesome! Its ironic. If you look at what he accomplished as president its amazing. He is one of the best we ever had.
Even more interesting is the fact that Kennedy rates as one of the worst!

Well...seems they could have had a better code name...I mean think about it DEEP THROAT...made the guy sound funny or something...could of been the ghost, the in-sider, anything else....
