Deep Fried Butter on a Stick

Want to know why we can't do "universal" health care like a European country?

Know what that is? It's a stick of butter, dipped in cinnamon and batter, then deep fried. Then the entire thing is drizzled with a sugar-based paste.

It doesn't really matter what works in Europe and what doesn't. Other countries don't have to battle insanities like deep fried butter on a stick.

I wonder how many here know that many newer, state-of-the-art operating rooms come equipped with a crane -- yes, a crane -- for moving around really huge patients.

It's not just crap like above that has the US so fat. The #1 problem is how you produce your food. The EFSA regulates food production much better then the FDA. The FDA panders to business more then the over all health of the country.

want to know what they'd need a crane for if I went to the OR?

To someone eating reasonably well, I'm sure production methods are very important.

The problem here in the US is a significant portion of our population (I'm just wildly guessing 1/3) don't even get to that point. If someone is eating cheetos, beer, butter on a stick, etc. etc. five or six times a day, it doesn't really matter.

Looks disgusting. They have that at the WI State Fair but as far as I can tell, its just a novelty. Every year they try to come up with the most absurd things to deep fry and put on a stick. This year they also had deep fried beer on a stick (how? I don't know). So, I doubt deep fried butter is on anyone's regular diet. At least I would hope not

they mix beer with the batter, I found it online a while back while learning WTF a funnel cake was....

I believe it's an American thing. We've got people who either want 100% organic all-natural vegetables nurtured with meditation crystals or we want deep fried butter on a stick rolled in crumbled oreos. We hate the middle.

I could go either way.

It matters when it cost more to eat healthy then it does to eat crap. Yes we all have choices but you have a family of 4 on a combined income of 40k a year and see what you can afford my guess is the options aren't that great.

In addition to that look at your public school system what food is servered in your schools. American kids are taught chicken nuggets over plain old chicken at a young age. The food industry markets crap to kids. It cost less to buy soda then water. I could go on with example but its clear America needs more then heath care reform to save there people.
