I'm pretty damn fat...got one of those damn tires that's blocking out the V-taper. I'm in ketosis now but I'm starting to get stomach pains, probably getting way too little fibre. I don't know if I should comprimise my digestive tract to lose weight :P. Is it possible to lose FAT while bulking and just sticking to a 6-meal a day type diet? I'm 17 so I figure I have the right type and sufficient amounts of hormones to induce lipolysis. Think I should just cut on ketosis or just train through it and hope that all that fat disappears?...Also I don't wanna be wasting the precious time I have with elevated testosterone and somatotropin.
 
Yeah so this is a continue bulking dilemma or continue cutting. I went from 185 lbs to 177 lbs in a week on ketosis, probably from the loss of water.
 
i know you can gain lean mass and that way your bodyfat % will decrease
 
why a low-carb diet? if you're 17 and active there's no need to do that to lose bodyfat.

Try eating a maintenance-type diet with roughly 33% calories from fat, carbs and protein. low-gi carbs except after workouts. See how you feel on that.
 
Yeah I did that before cutting down. Dunno, I think the fat I'm harbouring looks hideous :). It's hindering my definition and blocking off that V-taper. I'd say I'm over 20% bodyfat. We'll see, if I experience no more pain I'll keep cutting until I move out in September, in which case I'll start bulking. I think a (cyclic) ketogenic diet is impossible with university food.
 
at that bodyfat, you're probably doing the right thing by dieting. yeah I'd say ease into a 33/33/33 type diet at school (or whatever). and bulk cleaner next time :). I tried the eating everything in sight diet and it's just not a good idea for me yet. i can gain weight without junk. maybe when I have more LBM that won't be true anymore.
 
at 17 you need to forget that crap and eat clean 100% of the time dude.not being an ass but look how much your going through right now in order to lose the fat,and you're talking about bulking??? screw the bulking and try to eat a clean diet,high protein and low carb.not zero carb.that's a miserable way to shred and it won't last.when i ripp i don't do that shit and i'm 33 and i have the potential to put on fat bro.i'm not one of these naturally lean guys.e-mail me if you want me to help you with a diet.....PEACE
 
ketosis sucks........... i would never recomened anyone do it for any reason.

get rid of the fat first.

i hear a lot about not being able to increase muscle mass while cutting fat. i must be an exception. becouse iv gotten signifigantly stronger and cut my body fat down. and while on atkins!!!!! not even one cheat day a week.

i went from 235 to 208 in 12 weeks(I hv 30lbs of fat to go!!!.) during that time my bench went up over 140 lbs(from 135 to 275 for reps. if i would hv singled it would hv been higher!!). Squat over 165 lbs!!!(from 135 to 300)

My arms, chest, back(has blown up!!!) and legs hv gotten bigger. and my body composition is changing.

So you want to cut down on the carbs. Smart move.

Think of it this way. If you ingest 10 cups of spinach salad, 5 cups of calliflower. and 2-3 cups of brussle sprouts or string beans a day, as your source of carbs. and eat a 1:1 ratio of fat to protien.

You will stay at a net carb count of about 20 grams of carbs daily. Ingest 1-2 grams of protien per bw. and you will sched fat and build muscle!!!!!!!!

Get down to the desired bf that you want. Than slowly increase your carbs. and do a more bulking diet(clean).

Thats my goal and its working!!!!!!
