Deca or EQ for 5 weeks?

I know everyone says there is no point to run deca for only 5 weeks, because that is when it will just start to work.

My gym partner firmly believes against that and just finished a 5 weeks cycle of 200mg of test E and 500mg of deca per week.

In this time he put on 14 pounds.

I was kind of amazed and talked to him about the whole ester thing with deca and how that shouldn't work and his response was regardless of what is supposed to happen, he's been doing this for years and always has good results.

Says he does the same thing with EQ and will run 200mg of test and 600mg of EQ for 5 weeks and get great results.

Does this make sense to anyone?


I also read an article the other day about rich piana's cycle he posted up that he is running. It's a 12 week cycle where he runs deca for the first 8 weeks and EQ for the last 4 weeks. How can only 4 weeks of EQ even give u any results?

Stop trying to do unorthodox training and cycles & stick to what works. 5 weeks of DECA is almost pointless, 4 weeks of EQ is completely pointless.

I'm going to say it's pointless. But I'm also going to say go try it yourself. I think you'll waste the gear. But you never know. He's probably getting those results on changing up his diet and training while "on cycle".
 
Why is it that when everyone is running the same type of cycles, and has been running the same type of cycles for 50years, and have been turning into award winning powerlifters and bodybuilders, guys always find that one dude that went off on some crazy shit and start wanting that? Don't you think that if 5 weeks of deca and eq was a good cycle, there'd be more than 2 people running it?

Deca for 10-14 weeks and you will see a major difference between someone doing a half cycle and a full cycle.
 
if your not going to run them the needed time (12-14wks min) dont bother. and water retention at start of cycle doesnt count as muscle..
 
Instead of deca, grab yourself some NPP and stack it with test prop. NPP is the same as deca, just short ester. Even NPP I would run longer than 5 weeks though - you should run them together for at least 8 weeks! Eat everything and train hard - you will grow like a tree. A good bulker imo would be 250 mg test and 300-500 mg NPP for 10 weeks.

Even though you personally know the guy that recommended you to take deca for only 5 weeks and he swears it's the route to go, it would be naive to trust his knowledge over the collective knowledge database of this forum. I was in a similar situation, when a "gym bro" recommended me to take 600 mg tren ace EW for my first cycle with a dbol kickstart and winny finisher... and he told me he could sell it to me right then and there... Needless to say just because you may know him in real life and see him face to face does not make his actions correct. For all we know, the dozen or so pounds he put on may be a few lbs of mass gained from the 250 mg test, some water bloat from the test, and elevated carb intake + subsequent water absorption during his bulking calorie intake.

Like someone stated previously, there is no need to experiment with this stuff; the trial and error has been done for you already. Set your goals and adjust your compounds accordingly based off of proven cycles that worked 50 years ago and still work today. No need to reinvent the wheel!
 
Don't run either if not for at least 12-14 weeks.
What kind of ass backwards pageantry is going on in the world that this is even a question
