DECA-DICK: Causes and Treatment

Hey Bros,

I think Deca-Dick is a very misunderstood topic. Alot of newbies just figure they will be ok, but than mid-cycle end up with limp noodle syndrome. Hopefully this post will help everyone avoid it.

The reasons why Deca causes this problem are, decrease in DHT production, decrease or total inhibition of LH (Leutinizing Hormone) production, and a stopping of GnRH (Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone.) DHT is an androgen created by the coversion of testosterone in the prostate. Deca does not convert to DHT, and is therefore deactivated in the scalp and a wise choice for those prone to hairloss. However, DHT has a big impact on testicle function, since deca does not convert to DHT, but will stop natural test production more so than any other androgen, it can wreak havoc on libido. Deca has the ability to bind tightly to receptors in the brain that shut off GnRH production and therefore limiting FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone) and LH. Since LH is responsible for triggering the testicles to produce testosterone, any inhibition will slow or halt this process, which is why natural test is shut off so quickly with deca. Sexual desire is usually associated with the increased level of cortisol in relationship to the levels of catecholamines in the brain. The catecholamines are the good feeling brain chemicals and when cortisol exceeds a certain level those chemicals start to decrease. Deca, because of its high binding affinity also raises cortisol levels very high, therefore decreasing sexual desire over time. It takes a long time for cortisol levels to stabilize if left untreated.

There are a few things u can do to prevent this from happening. The first is to limit your deca use to 100mg/wk. Now unless u are using deca for joints only, this is not a practical dose. If using deca in higher amounts it would be wise to use a testosterone in a 2:1 ratio to avoid this problem. Another method is to use regular hcg shots and clomid throughout your cycle. This will work because the clomid would stop the down-regulation of the hpta while the hcg directly stimulates LH. However, continuous use of hcg can have serious side-effects.

Hope this helps to clarify this problem. Post any questions u might have.

In addition, I think PR is also a leading factor for deca-dick, after all the 2 AAS most known for it are deca and fina which are both known attributors to high PR levels, which has been proven to kill sex drive in men.

look this shit has been said many times but once again: always throw some test with Deca thats all.........

Good point Zyg,

What is your explanation for those that go unaffected by deca-dick in regard to PR. I am thinking that the inhibition of LH varies person to person which is why some can maintain sex drive, but it seems PR could play a role. Your Thoughts?

Just as with everything it varies person to person. As for the PR aspect, fina for example doesnt affect my sex drive at all and I have no symptoms of gyno either, yet I am at a pretty low dose. Im thinking that those that go unaffected probably have either a higher tolerance to PR or simply less susceptable to the actions that lead to high PR.

I would be real curious to find out from those that have used deca, how many got deca-dick and out of those, how many showed signs of gyno or got gyno. Next, from the same deca users, this time who used fina, how many got deca-dick and how many got gyno or gyno symptoms. I am just speculating of course, but from just casual browsing, it appears that those who suffer deca-dick the easiest are also most prone to PR gyno and those that dont get deca-dick or not until late cycle seem to never have problems with gyno. Of course I did no survey or take a poll, that was just based on casual observation so doesnt carry any weight, but it would be an interesting theory to perhaps persue.

I have been thinking that exact same thing recently. The other side could be the predisposition to ER gyno related to PR gyno. I have used Deca and Test seperatley both at 500mg. With the deca I experinced no gyno or sexual dysfunction. However, with the sust I needed nolva from week 3 till the end. I would be interseted on other experiences.

I've used deca before and never had any problems but right now I'm 5 weeks into a cycle of 400mg deca and 600mg test/week and I cant keep a hard on.My gains are WAY up which is great but this other problem really sucks! I'm lowering the deca to 300mg/week and also starting 50mg clomid per day, also adding a little hcg but not too much.Hopefully this will help.

Firstly, Deca is the best steroid compound around.

Secondly, sex drive is actually improved in a large number of Deca users. I am getting sick of hearing people bash Deca just because they have weak spongy tissues in their penis and can't get a hard on.

And for people that say use test with Deca...well that is just idiotic since the test will do nothing to counteract the SUPPOSED progenic properties of Deca.

There should be a new rule that states that you can only say anything about Deca Dick if you have used Deca by itself in a cycle. Or better yet, keep your mouth shut until you have used any type of steroid.

First off, I am not bashing deca, as I have used it with great success and minimal problems without any other AAS. I am simply making people aware of it's possible side-effects. I don't know how this post became gyno related but that was not my intention. As for u saying deca can improve sex drive, I would like to see some studies because that is hard to believe. Also, I never clamied test could prevent deca's progesterone effects, but It can and does help with sex-drive, which has not been proven to be PR related.

Good thing I meet 2 Thick's criteria for speaking on this subject. Yes, I too have suffered Deca-dick and a terrible flare up of gyno from Deca. I also had great gains of strength and mass. Bottom line is Deca isn't for everyone. Some people experience the sides while the fortunate ones don't. As for me, I'll stick with EQ, unless Deca is all I can get at the time. I'll just keep extra clomid and HCG on hand.

Thats why I mentioned PR. If I am not mistaken, elevated levels of PR increase sex drive, but at a point when the PR gets to high, labido declines. Where that point is seems to vary by individual greatly. I have not used it yet, but plan on adding a little to my next cycle for some joint lube.

im on fina/winny right now and about the 3 week mark I got the ol winny aches. On top of that I have an achy shoulder to bigin with. Im only on 75mg/eod of fina, which isnt much, but the only side I have which just started at week 3 was oily skin. I was thinking 100-200mg week should be plenty for the joints. I expected the winny aches to get a little worse but they havnt so I am leaning toward the low end with the deca.

I love deca for its results!!
as far as this supposed dec-dick never had a problem on deca in fact I get just the opposite results
HUGE RAGGIN HARD ONS!!!!!
