Deadlift vid

did you change nicknames or something?

you've definately gotten stronger, i don't recall you ever dling 200kgs good job!

yeah it was definately an all back pull, but it's okay, unless you were planning on doing olys, in which case, stop dling like that right away.

Thanks SR. BTW cool training/comp vids. Yeah, other nick was too creepy :Chef:

I notice you oly lifters start with your hips super low - reason?

Anyway, not to turn this into a vid-fest but even my clean pull started lower and this only this summer.

Now I'm thinking the only thing that changed physically was the sciatic nerve issue, I must've ended up compensating.

I don't think that would qualify as a deadlift.

i agree

gotta get that ass down much much lower. Your lift would probably go up quite a bit if you do it correctly too. You arent really using any quad.

No, if you are looking for good advice, a video is the best thing that you can do. it's impossible to convey positions and things effectively through text. a picture here does say a thousand words.

even when you are clean pulling, you are deadlifting. the point of a clean pull is to overload and work the good bar trajectory. to generate maximum force during a clean to get the bar to the right height via extension, your body must be engaged in a "cocked" position during the initiation of the second pull. if you use your back too early, you take your legs out of the equation - that's why the hips must be relatively low.

if you go for a pull and your hips rise first, you've used your back too soon.

the first half of the deadlift is all legs and glutes, I didn't see any legs or glutes working there, looked like all lower back. (granted I doubt my lower back would pull that weight). but not a deadlift
