Deadlift question

Hey how ya all doing?

I've been doing deadlifts for a few weeks now, just been doing low reps 3-5 for 3-5 sets. Would i reach a point where i need to go back down weights and do more reps to build more mass, so that I could up my strength by strengthening those muscle fibres? or is alright just to keep doing what im doing at the moment?

Here's my thoughts. You shouldn't pull heavy every time. Also I don't like high reps on deads as form tends to go to hell when you do. I like 5x5 at a weight where the last set is hard/impossible to complete. Once in a while I'll do one all out set of 10 and then go home. I tend to work in 5x5 3x5 3x3 and then start pulling for heavy singles. So you do each for a week and could even add in a week where you do 2x2.

Cheers,
Scotsman

beginner or not, if you're serious about powerlifting and your form, i recommend working up to heavy single on the deadlift. multiple reps will reduce your form and also reversal strength begins to come into play, which is irrelevent in a meet
