I have a friend that turned 27 four days before I turned 20. He told me that he thought he would be so much farther in life than he is. He thought he would be married (he's not even dating) and that he would have a good job (he's got a part time position at the university). He's not where he wanted to be. I hesitate to set expectations and goals for myself for a certain age for this very reason. How depressing to know you haven't accomplished them.

I think I would rather do like GK says. Just continue to grow. Why decide that I should have reached my peak by a certain age? I don't intend to hit a peak for a very long time. I'm just going to keep getting better.
