Hey has anyone tried doing speed bench with a band wrapped around your back?
I did this last night and it worked out well.
I had a light band wrapped around my back for tension and I was doing the speed bench with 225 bar weight plus the band for 8 sets of 3 reps.
The tension was great and I never had trouble with the tension getting out of whack.
I know some say not to do full reps on DE stuff but this woirked well. I did full reps too. Perhaps it helped because I have long arms 78inch boxing reach and I was able to keep the tesion when the bar was at my chest.
Racking and unracking was a little weird but I got the hang of it after a few sets.
I think this might be hard for short armed benchers to try but it definately worked for me.
