DC Users - Opinions?

For those of you here who have tried DC training, what did you think of the results? Did you follow the program perfectly, or was your protein less than 2xBW a lot of the time and such?

For those who didn't try it, why didn't you and do you think it is something that could really work as well as it's supposed to.

DC has turned those who followed him 110% into monsters. But you have to give it your all, and really work your ass off. Already I can tell you might not do that, as you are already asking about one of the most important parts of his program, the high protein.

If you want to give it an honest try, read cycle for pennies on Animals board. At 105 pages it's a long read, but unless you are going to get trained by him personally, it's the only way you will somewhat grasp it. I've read it a few times over the past couple of years, and I find something new every time. It's a great program, and if you decide to let him train you, you won't be dissapointed. But remember, follow it exactly, or don't bother. Good luck.

I do believe that lots of people have had good personal success with the program.

Debaser should either be able to completely fill you in, in detail, or answer most of your questions.

No no I wasn't questioning the protein because I don't want to consume that. I was just saying, if someone comes here and says it didn't work well, I want to make sure it didn't work well and they ate all their protein haha, because if they didn't, then they didn't follow the routine. And they suck.

It seems like a good program, though I'm skeptical of the one set.

its working fine for me and i dont consume nearly enough protein. youve got to figure anyone who is training decent with protein 2x their bodyweight is gonna grow. the program is scientifically sound, and working the muscles more than once a week is great. everyone stares at me when i do statics though like they wanna come spot me and help me get the weight up. everyone stares at me when i do the stretches too :(

I think its an amazing program. If you follow the program completely, including the diet, you are almost guaranteed to go up in weight on every week every single time. It took me about 7 weeks before i hit kind of a sticking point. My weights shot up, and i looked much bigger, putting on 13lbs. I did gain a little fat, but this program is all about bulking. Try it

in terms of sheer mass it is the second best program ive ever used.
I gained more training westside.
but never the less its an incredible program.

its working well, though i am workin through an old deadlift injury and working on my squat form as i go through. My back has gotten bigger training this way for sure.

It works really well. I followed the protein guidelines most of the time. There are days where, I admit, my dedication lacked, but this would subside.

Fuckin' christ...
Debaser, do you have to cycle 3 exercises? I can only do two, mostly. Only one for lats, unless I can use chin-ups and pull-ups as two different exercises. What would I do in this case?

The posts are so many, so could you tell me what rep range you're supposed to stay in for each bodypart, then what range to shoot for wit' RP and know when to go up in weight?

one of the funny things about the way people push DC training is the line "you have to adhere to his training 110%". if you adhered to any diet and training 110% youd get phenomenly big.

That aside, DC does work and i have tried training DC style while slacking (relatively) on my diet and put on more size than i did with other programs.

Id like to see some pics of DC though

I have them on my comp, I'm not sure if he wants them to be seen as he took down the link before. Rest assured though, he's enormous.

I say follow it as is, because he doesn't want people taking a little of this and a little of that from his program, and then not get results. Some people think "one sets not enough!" so they throw in a few more, and over train. Then they go around saying his program doesn't work and you'll overtrain. Or they will follow the training, but not the diet, and say the same thing, program doesn't work. So out of fairness and respect for a guy who is giving people all the tools to make his training work for them, free of charge, I always tell people they need to follow it exactly as written....

ive been doing DC's routine for almost a year now and just to give you an idea i can do about 255lbsx8x4x2 for my working set for decline bench press. the key to the lift is in your working set to have a good rest pause meaning slow down and exploding up

Okay... I heard everything is to 8 reps then rest-paused. Well, not everything is rest-paused, but 8 reps you try to fail at, then RP twice.

For which exercises DON'T you RP?
I heard you're supposed to use a higher rep-range or RP range with arms? Is this true? Necessary? Anyone actually do that?

It all depeneds on what makes you grow. A certain rep range will be more effective for you than me. Ive used DC since the spring and Im still seeing gains and I dont plan on stopping his program bc its giving me the best results Ive ever gotten.

you can rest pause to anything, 8 just seems like a logical number. total reps =15. 8 reps, pause, 4 reps, pause, 3 reps, pause, then 30 second static. i use 12 total reps on my chest. so it goes 6, 4, 2. everything should be inbetween 11-15 rest paused. legs and back thickness only should be kept to straight sets. i asked him about that in an email.

Back thickness yes. Width, no. Chin-ups can be rest-paused and doing statics on them from what I have seen is very helpful. Just what I think.
