DC training question

Are core movements such as bb bench, military press, squats etc necessary for this or can i do other movements?

My joints have been giving me trouble and haven't been doing any core movements lately and have been growing well, but are they necessary for DC training?
 
i don't imagine you would grow too much doing dumbell flies or leg extensions....


if standard barbell moements are giving you joint problems, try experimenting with other similar movements...for example incline dumbell presses, or box squats, etc.....


also, I use Hammer strength machines for some of my movements
 
db presses got too heavy and annoying and still hurt my shoulders and joints... I don't see why it would be any different if you are still breaking down the muscle... I feel more fatigud after 3 sets on a machine than i do with db's or bb's
