DC Training Question

Okay, I know that negatives and static holds and such can be a bitch sometimes and to re-rack the weight can be tough. I have no training partner and workout at home. I can't invest in a powerrack or anything really right now...

My question is, can I do the routine WITHOUT one, or is it just too difficult once the weights get big? Should I just stick with the 5x5?

is 5x5 working for you? if so stick w/ it until you stagnate and use DC to switch up. as far as DC w/o a partner or power rack - it would be difficult but not impossible. you might need to make a couple of changes in the routine to fit your needs

I am going Solo on the DC program. Its not always the most convienient, but i feel I am getting by. Something that i have found out:

On squats, i cant END on a negative until the very last rep, otherwise i can't get the weight back up for the next sub-set.

On shoulder press, i can do a negative on every rep, and then when i fail, i can front-squat it back up to the rack for the next sub-set.

On barbell bench, i can't END on a negative until the very last rep.

Leg press on a weight stack machine is great for not haveing to worry about getting crushed on the final negative.

Other than that, i find i can do most other exercises no problem on my own.

i have before when i have to go to the gym by myself. kind of sucks if the person does'nt know what he's really doing. i've gotten used to the way i'm spotted by my buddy

I find that i can do without a spot on most exercises as long as they end with a "pulling" movement or they involve dumbbells or machines.
