Day Trading is Hazardous to your Wealth

Mr. X I have never taken HYIP seriously, it sounds completely ludicrous. But you are a well respected member of EF and have been successful, can you explain to us what a HYIP is?

one advice to everyone, DO NOT use money you need on HYIPs just stick to the cash you don't need.....i.e. don't use your rent money! Most GOOD HYIPs are run on the basis of the FOREX or high yield real estate the rest are crap...

************
What is a Hyip?
HYIP stands for “High Yield Investment Program” and is a high-risk way of investing money. The interest rates are extremely high compared to most other kinds of investments.

How high are the interest rates that High Yield Investment Programs offer?

very much and range anywhere from 5 – 250% per month. The higher the interest rate the higher the risks.

TIPS FOR YIPS:
1. Real FOREX HYIP's can only give so much percentage (20%-40% a month)
2. They won't be afraid to talk on the phone or give an address other than a PO box
3. They have a good history and can show for their past returns

Can you really "get rich quick" with HYIPs?

NOTE FROM Mr.X: do NOT invest in HYIPs if you're not highly experienced and don't have a lot of time or money to lose!

I'm curious about the managers of these products. If they have talent, why aren't they in the hedge fund world. The standard 20% incentive fee is pretty attractive and the pool of money is much larger for a talented manager. The incentive fee is like leverage on performance using others' money and with large institutions pouring money in a talented manager can accululate a nice pool to work with.

I don't know much about HYIPs but it seems like they are targeting the little guy which tends to be a pain in the butt from a money management standpoint. There's got to be a reason they are going after small stake private individuals on the internet and if there's a good one it's kind of eluding me. Maybe the strategies are too small to handle a larger pool of wealth. I don't know but I'd be interested if someone could provide some insight.

looked around through some of the HYIP programs,,,they all look like real shady operations,,,

I've been a futures trader for 14 yrs owned a set in london and chicago, and one word on HYIP or whatever its called...' A Marketing gimmick'. 99.9% of these guys who sell trading strategies never did a days trading in their life. What they are good at is 'marketing'. Holding seminars at top hotels and convicing naive investors to part with thousands on buying their trading systems.

Ive seen tham all, day trading and my advise on anyone who wants to day trade is to do psycho-anaylitcal test to see if your personality suits trading.

One can have the gun but can they pull the trigger?

So how do they get away with it ? Wouldn't SEC shut em down as soon as they open shop due to fraud practices ?
