Darkness had fallen...

Silent Method

New member
Darkness had fallen and the soft smell of jasmine lingered over the still warm earth. Perched on a hill at the edge the forest, hidden in its calm shadow, I searched the moonlit valley before me. I knelt down, my left hand touched the ground, my right clutching my burden, that which had brought me to this place. With a warm, delicate breeze, the forest inhaled deeply. The scent of jasmine vanished as I broke through the darkness, leaving behind me the comfort of the woodland for vast and unknown plain.

The sun had suddenly become an anachronism of percievable life, and no longer existed in their hearts. Feelings of dejection grew through their minds, bodies, and spirits like a rogue cancer. "Why did this happen to us?" they said, "is human kind lost forever?" They then realized that this rampant melancholy was not caused by them, but rather, by their enemies. In our never ending quest for death and destruction, we created a virus. This virus, you see, affected human spirit. Man knew that he could sever each limb, exterminate each family, and bomb entire cities, but what he could not figure out was why his enemies would come back stronger. An epiphany! The spirit! The human spirit! Wreak the greatest damage, the greatest destruction ever imaginable, without force! So the virus was created and released. In an instant, the once resilient nature of humans was gone. The will power and the spirit had been finally crushed, now came the easy part: extermination. With their spirit and will power defeated, man's greatest enemies transformed into pathetic vehicles of dead life. How easy.
