i had one tattoo done stoned, one done drunk, and the rest i was stone sober. sober is the best way to go. the one i got done while drink bled like crazy. it was really bad, as i was on beer 4 when we started and on beer 8 or so when we were finished. the guy doing it was drinking too, but not too heavily.
being stoned is just going to intensify the pain. tattoo pain isn't much at all, but it just bugged the hell out of me when i got stoned before a tattoo. not worth repeating.
as far as the piercing, dude, it's gonna hurt no matter what you do. like i told you before, take the pain full bore, suck it up. it will make every aspect of the healing (which i'm still going through) seem very insignificant.
make sure you are hydrated like a mother fucker too. i drank 1/2 gallon of water before i got my piercing done and i pissed 4 or 5 times. i didn't drink anything for 2 hours afterwards, and it took me 7 hours after i got pierced before i could piss, even with all the water i was drinking. my dick was in a state of retreat still, it didn't want to cooperate.
cherish that first piss, and do it in a cup of warm water. it will be the best piss you've ever had in your life. i've talked to others that said once the initial sting was over (first few seconds), it felt awesome. it really did feel good. i wish it felt that good every time i pissed.

oh yeah, TAKE PICS! take a camera in there with you and just aim and shoot the best you can while getting it done.
