My daughter had one of the back of her earings completely grown into her ear.....you could not even see the back.....I had to rip all the skin away, while she screamed and kicked....it took my wife and I to do that. ....when we had that done, we still could not get the back off.....it took a pair of pliers and a safety pin throught the loops in the earring back......it ended up breaking bot loops. My wife was finally able to get one of her nails on the broken loop and pull it off......

Talk about feeling sick to your stomach.......it is so hard to cause pain to your child.

damn bro. How did you find out? Did she come up to you and say "My earing is in my ear" lol or Was it hurting her a lot?

Sucks either way. glad to hear it`s over now... DR. lol

Thats rough bro. last week my neice was looking through her moms fashion mags and decided to cut all her hair off. She's 4. Still looked cute as hell though. Just looked like Stevie Wonder cut her hair.

Beast,

You sound like a great Dad...you may want to take her to the docs to prevent any potential infection if that happens again.

Would have sucked if you then remembered that your kid didn't wear earrings or have her ears pierced.

My dad took a knife to my hand once to "get the stinger out" from a wasp sting. Except that unlike bees, wasps don't leave stingers. After a lot of pain we came to that conclusion.
Similar event with glass in my hands when I was working at a lumber yard.

Maybe your daughter will learn her lesson that she needs to spin those earrings and keep the backs moving.
I hope you beat some sense into her - and then tell her that you "hit her 'cause you care so much".

that sux... i've seen that on a little girl before, no EASY way to fix it either, make sure you put lots of neosporin in the wound.. and remember that the scar tissue buildup in that area can make it next to impossible to repierce...

We found out because my wife went to go put her loops in.

WE cleaned it with peroxide......we also put the loop in so that the hole will remain.......we'll have to make sure the earring keeps moving.

Did she just get them pierced or has she had them and this was just an infection of some kind? Sorry for all the questions bro, I got a 2 year old that everyone tells me to pierce already. lol

If you really think about it, the way water swirls down counterclockwise in the southern hemisphere really does make sense. The real question to ponder upon should be what is the flushing situation of water in the equator, does it go clock wise sometimes and countclockwise others?

Awww the poor kid. I wouldn't have been able to take it out for her... I probably would've gone to the doc or to my mom's friend that is a nurse. I'm a wimp. :(

How's she doing now?

I can't belive you did that. Why would you not take her to a doctor?

Sorry, but I think that was just stupid.

Poor little thing! Was it bothering her? How did you figure out what the problem was?

It's good that you put earrings in again. At least it'll let stuff drain if an infection occurs.

Are you kidding me?

My daughter is paranoid of doctors. It would only of made it worse and not the mention the bill that would be sent to my insurance company. We are not the type to run our child to the doctor for every sniffle or scrape......if we did that we would be in there every week....that is why insurance costs are so damn expensive at it is....but the is not the main reason I didn't take her.

I knew what needed to be done.....we did the same thing a doctor would have done but with less screaming.

She had them pierced when she was 3 months old. It wasn't infected at all...that is the crazy part....they weren't put in her ears that long ago either. And it was the only one ear that had the problem....I believe it is the side the she sleeps on.

Raina & Lucid.....she is great now...not complaining at all.....she has never complained about them.....my wife just happened to decided to change the earings and seen it.

I live in Canada, I never thought of the cost involved.
