Damn Shoulder

muscelove

New member
Injured it one year ago benching. I had been doing well with the shoulder for a while by laying off benching heavy. I was going heavy with the shoulder press and all was fine. Started benching heavier and its back just as before. I can still shoulder press heavy with no pain. The MRI that I had done showed some visual thickening of the labrum but said nothing else. I looked at some visuals of the shouder structure and saw where the labrum was and I dont feel as though the pain is coming from there. The pain feels very acute and it passes under the clavicle about mid way up. Almost like its at the beginning of the trap right under the clavicle.

You have signs of Anterior compartment syndrome. People who are heavy bench pressers, and do anterior deltoid raises constantly develop this condition. It is also classifed as impingment syndrome. It is when the supraspinatus of the Rotator Cuff develops a muscle imbalance compared to the other three muscles of the cuff. What helps is developing the rhomboids and posterior deltoid musculature. if this imbalance is not corrected it will get worse as time goes on. You need to see a physical therapist not a chiropractor.
