In December I had a bad mix of breaking some ribs, tearing a muscle in my back and being broke as a mofo lol...
Long story short after healing up and getting a little cash flow I went back to the gym for the first time since December on Monday. I wasn't a complete bum the entire time I was out of the gym, I did cardio on my treadmill at home 5x's a week (walking)..
Anyways my back feels fine now and I got the clearance from the doc to go balls to the wall in the gym again.
All I can say is OUCH. No, I'm not complaining about physical pain or soreness.....I'm bitchin about the blast to my EGO lol..
Monday I started out with Back day....just going light and seeing if my back was really healed up. When I went out in December I could deadlift 405 easily for reps and max somewhere near 475-ish. Well, 225 felt like a ton of bricks to me and I only got about 3 sets of 10, 8, and 7 reps with it.
Then came Tuesday, the worst of the two days...Arm day. I went from standing curls of 80lb dumbells to struggling with 50's....standing barbell curl I went from easily getting 5,6 reps with 135 to strugglin my ass off with 95lbs....
I'm gonna hit chest on Friday and THAT'S gonna be the biggest ego bruiser as I was benching 405 when I left...I honestly dread putting 225 on the bar right now LOL
Doesn't it suck how quickly you can lose it after working so hard to gain it!?
Muscle memory where the hell are ya
