Man, I think I've got some tendonitis going on in my right arm. It starts right in the ball of my elbow joint and shoots down my arm about 1/2 way. Is there any OTC stuff you guys would recomend for a broly..

Is it worse when you do exercises with overhand grip? It may be tennis elbow. I had it, tried everything but the only thing was to avoid aggravating movements for a few months and use straps to take some of the force off the grip.

Start with some Glucosamine supplements, there are also some collagen supps that you may wish to try. I did get some relief from the Glucosimine, but it dident really get manageable until I went to an acupunturist for 6 treatments and now its really in good shape.

It's worse with an underhand grip. Like curls for instance. I'll try the glucosamine for a while. Thanks for the replies...

Actually been away for a little while. A link would be great if you can swing it bro. K at cha...

It seems like it sucks at the time but the best rehab is to not do anything that makes it hurt. Time will fix most problems, fighting through it will make it worse.

Prolotherapy will fix this in about 3 visits. The damage is in the tendons and ligaments.

The Doc probes with his fingers and finds the point of damage ... the hot spot. He then injects into this spot to create irritation. The body rushes healing chems into the irratated site and heals it all. Result? Pain gone.

If you are brave, you can do this yourself. Put your next injection into the hot spot.

Oooof. Have fun with that... Does it work for hemorrhoids and hernias too?

I have the same problem in my left elbow, sounds like Tennis Elbow. Nothing OTC will help. I made it almost 2 yrs. with my first Cortisone Injection, which hurts like a Mother. My second one only lasted a couple of months. My Doc says that a build up of blood in the elbow is causing the inflamation and the only other way to elevate the pain is surgery.

That screams second opinion. I'd be talking to a sports medicine doc. Look on the net and check out what's involved with surgery on persistent tennis elbow -- Not me, fella. I'll take any other route than surgery.

so are you saying it hurts from elbow to your forarm?

I had tennis elbow for a long time 2 years or more and just worked around it
and had a visit to the Chiropractor she adjusted it and the pain was gone
it lasted about 6 months or so and started up a little so i just made another visit. Good shit.

but i have also had pain like that that went into my forarms now this is like shit splints in your forarm and will a little rest it will leave.

I use to do all my curls with the EZ curl bar and i changed to the flat bar "changing my grip" and that caused the problem so i just waiting a week or so and then started with just the bar and worked my way up slowly and all gone now.. good luck with that..

Glucosamine, MSM, Chondrotin....these will help heal and feed tendons, legiments...the problem is for glucosamine to be effective it has to be in the range of 1650mgs per day....it takes about 14-21 days to load into the system...this works for most of us who do not have a serious injury...it will help repair serious injuries however if you dont not contiue to obliterate the affected area...most people do not get into the milligram range thats needed to be effective...it has to be loaded.

My mother-in-law came home with some of the "blue stuff" one time and when she opened the tin, the smell almost knocked me out. It smelled like old urine, wet leather and wet dog all at once. That was a few years ago but my nose still crumples up thinking about it. I hope it has improved since then. :(

Good Post -

Here is an article on the benefits etc of Glucosmine and Chondroiton.

In a nutshell, these two supplements help to reginerate growth and development of the joints and tissues. They help to resolve current issues but only after time as they can only repair as they build.
