Dakotah deadlifted for the first time tonight. she did 240 lbs

DEADLIFTING

My legs sprawled out from the bench where I sit
While I soak in my sweat and tongue out the grit
From my molars and savor each second of rest
Before I return for a personal best
I imagine each subsequent part of my set-up
Chalk my torn palms before stooping to get up
Trudge back toward the bar across the gym floor
A dejected ex-lover who's come back for more
I step to the weight as if starting a fight
My body resilient, my fists clenched tight
Lower myself in a humble bow
To a weight never moved-at least until now

I push back the caution and doubt that I've felt
Unleashing Hell as I fasten my belt
Seizing the bar with resolute hands
Eschewing stares from those who don't understand
Look up and tense through my heels to the ground
Pulling with madness, head up and butt down
The bar flexes upward then cracks off the floor
The weight lumbers, slumbers, encumbers me more

And as I strain through the physical strife
I loose sight of time and the bland chores of life
For this is my passion, though extreme in degree
And yes most wouldn't guess, as the bar clears my knees,
That I'm feeling such joy by God's own grace
Behind this beat-red frown on my face

And with every inch the bar crawls up my thighs
With every groan and pain-laden cry
With every moment the iron yields to me
Without a doubt, I am truly free.

Maybe you and your GF should pay St. Louis a visit soon, and train with me to get 800.

Eight hundred? Damn. How many reps can you get with 500lbs and 600lbs? You got a bad ass back going on there. What's your back routine like Pit? Also, what were you doing weight-wise before you hit the sauceroni?


BTW, congrats to Dakotah on the impressive lift.
 
Deliquent, if you wear a belt, the waist becoming wider becomes less of an issue.
 
Either way I still feel damned proud of myself for the achievemnet and plan on raising my weight come next time.

Thanks to everyone again who posted here hope i hit everybody if i didnt its cause ive hit you recently.

BTW, congrats to Dakotah on the impressive lift.

I don't do high reps anymore with anything over 405, but I can hit 585 for 10, or I could. I really don't think AAS has played a big role in my back strength, that's always been my strongest body part.

Back Routine:

Deadlifts and Hammy's are done on the same day.

Three warm up sets / 4-5 working sets

Back Day consists of:

One Arm DB Rows/Bent Over Rows / Alt. Workouts

Pull Ups/ Lat Pulldowns / Alt Workouts

Low Cable Rows Heavy as I can go

Hyperextensions supersetted with Supermans when I think about them.

I LOVE TRAINING BACK......and I am always looking for new exercises, but I stick to the meat and potatoes, cause that's what works. :)

what in the world do you think it does to a woman to make her less curvy? it builds butt and hamstrings and makes some nice back muscle.

I've heard several people say it makes your waist wider...never understood why though.
