Daisy Girl - Question about your diet

Hi, Daisy Girl.

I read in a thread on another forum that you are doing a Clen cycle and that you could see results even though your diet isn't quite right. I'm also doing a clen/t3 cycle. I'm suffering through the ketosis diet (by suffering, I mean that I'm experiencing a total lack of energy and bad leg & ass cramps. The diet itself is pretty easy). I'm getting ready to carb up on Saturday and then go back into ketosis again. I've also seen some really good results this week.

I was wondering what your diet is like - what ratio of carbs you're taking in. I've missed a couple of workouts because I just don't have any energy, and I know it's from the lack of carbs. Wondering if I should change my diet from high fat/protien & low carb to something more moderate all the way around.

Let me see, I just finished a bowl of Fruit Loops. ;)

I honestly am NOT keep track of anything. I know my body quite well, and I know what foods I should eat. I am coming off a few months of not dieting - which shows in my waistline! Plus, my schedule has changed DRAMATICALLY since school started (I teach). I am still trying to get things settled.

This is not an ideal diet for me, but I am trying to get on a new schedule right now.

Meal 1 6:45am
~40g carbs (starchy)
~15g fat
~40g protein

Meal 2
~20g carb (starchy, plus unlimited veggie)
~30g protein

Meal 3
Protein Bar or fruit

*WORKOUT*

(I'd like to get back into the habit of a shake here, am having trouble remembering)

Meal 4
~30g protein
~5-10g fat
minimal carbs

*I have some candy at school, so sometimes eat some of that.....HAVE to stop doing that.

I would like to add a few more veggies next week and get more scheduled with my "feedings". I am NOT optimizing my ability and knowledge of my body. :(

I am NOT measuring gains/losses right now. I am simply going by clothing fit and by the mirror. I don't feel like stressing out over numbers - it is pointless to me. I know I can look better, why add on feeling like crap because the scale is high? Silly.

Started the Clen last Mon, seeing small results, and feeling it in some clothing. Some is still tight, but that is to be expected. If my diet was tighter, it would make a world of difference. Starting NOW, no NOW,......ahhhh...maybe later. :)

Ketosis usually works for me - but combined with the clen/t3 cycle kind of wipes me out. I carb up day after tomorrow and will keep my diet as-is until I go off the clen in another week. Just feelin' a little blah....

I couldn't do Keto. I have no desire to be that miserable. :)

In all honesty, I SWEAR I read somewhere that Clen works better with carbs in the diet. I'll have to use my magical Platinum powers to see if I can find it......

Seriously, I *know* I would see better results, and faster results with a clean diet. But I don't have it in me right now. My goals are NOT to be shredded. My gials right now are to fit in all my clothes (including my wedding dress!) and be HAPPY and enjoy life. :)

If you are feeling so wiped out, why don't you do 2 small carb ups a week? Like 1 meal with moderate clean carbs on Monday and Thursday...... You'd probably feel better and get good workouts.....

Short one you could also try carb cycling. Basicaly eay moderate carbs on the days you lift and low carb on the days you don't. I am with Daisy on the keto makes me misrable as hell and my lifting suffers with out some carbs in my diet.

I'm on day 2 of my carb-up and am still feeling a little drained. I'm pretty sure it's the combo of ketosis and the clen. I'm going to try adding one carb meal a day at breakfast. Oatmeal or something. Ketosis usually works well for me. Over the last year, I've dropped 20 pounds. However, I wasn't cycling clen/t3 and working out as frequently as I do. I'm 5'2 and am at 130 pounds. I'm really solid and have some definition, but am trying to lose that last 10 pounds. It's a bitch trying to get it off. My body is really holding on to it.

I do know that there's no way I'm going to get it off if I'm too wiped out to do cardio. Thanks for the advice, girls. keep it coming if you have more...

BTW, I dropped over 30lbs in less than 4 months with a clean diet. NO Clen or T3 required. AND I was on a lower carb diet - but NOT a Keto diet.

Watch that T3 rebound. You might end up worse off than before..... T3 is WAY overrated for non-competitors. In all honesty, no flame intended, I think it is stupid to mess with it UNLESS your income is dependent on your body. It is your body, and I respect that, but I think people shouldn't take T3 - the possible bad can outweigh the possible positive.

Thanks for the advice - I'm not offended in the least.

I really thought long and hard over the T3 - long before I became a member of this board. I understand that I will need to be very careful - both during my cycle and after.

I train hard and do not cheat on my diet. I am currently on day 8 of my clen/t3 cycle. My abs are finally starting to show and my muscles are hardening up. I'm OK with the fact the you probably think I'm the human equivalent of a guinea pig or lab rat. :alien: (<-----closest icon I could find to a lab rat) And judging by your posts, I'd say you give great advice.

I leave for Belize on October 8 (vacation - woo-hoo!). If I'm not super-impressed by the results at that time, I promise to throw the t3 away for good. (I'll post my results before I go.)

Even though I hate T3, I really look forward to your report. :)

For what it is worth, I tried T3 and all I got was headaches, fatigue, lightheadedness, foggy-brain, and I almost passed out in the bathroom one night. That was the stopping point for me. I never even got that high in dose, but the bad sides came on quick and hard. And I got no good from it (no fat loss). :(

I'm a dumb girl and have been just listening to what my husband tells me but the more I read by Daisy Girl, the more I think he's full of it. T3...what's the story? I'm at the end of the second week of a clen/T3 cycle and although I do get buzzed by the Clen, I can take it. Should I continue the cycle or tell him to poound sand?

SB - first, as much as I'm sure your husband knows, please make sure that as you come across things on this site or others or anything else your husband mentions regarding things you put into your body, educate yourself first. You NEEEDDDDDD to know what it is that you are putting into your body. What guys take doesn't necessarily affect women in the same way. A popular first stab at a "supplemented" diet is clen / t3. T3 is a thyroid drug that is a controlled substance. There's lots of discussion about how T3 can screw up your thyroid and lots of suggested cycles to take it with. Personally I don't see the point of it. You will get so much better & more predictable results with good, clean, consistent diet & training. (Ref: Daisy's statement above. I also dropped 18 lbs & 8% bodyfat in prep for a bodybuilding show in 4 months on a completely natural diet & training schedule.)

What is your current dosage on the clen & T3?

What she said. Sassy has it right.

With gaining the 50lbs (I read your previous post), supplements are NOT the answer. Getting on a clean, consistent diet and a smart trainging program are what you need to focus on. It took time to gain the weight, it will take time to get it off. Clen and T3 will NOT get the results faster in your case. You need to make LIFE changes, not quick fixes.

OK, we're not doing T3 this time around, my bad. So no worries there. I know you're right-I figure that if I clean up my diet and start lifting I should be where I want to be by March 1. My goal is to drop 40 pounds total, 2 pounds a week. I'm going to Mexico in May and I need to look good :rainbow: The only reason that I like the clen is the boost it gives me. I like the energy and the "rush". My days are so long and so draining that the extra energy is great.

One thought I had was when I've seen people I know gain significant amounts of weight over a short period of time, but haven't been like that their whole life, they tend to be able to lose the weight because their body really wants to get back to the "set weight" it has operated at previously.

What is your cycle schedule with the clen? Often the suggested cycle is 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off because the receptors that clen hits tend to become more tolerant of the clen over time. In other words, over the course of some days, it will take more of the clen pills (especially depending on how they are dosed) to get the same "buzz". After 2 weeks of taking them, you should take 2 weeks off to give the receptors a chance to clear out the clen they've been hit with. You can move to a thermogenic on the alternate 2 weeks because ECA hits different receptors than the clen.

What thermogenic do you recommend? I've read lots of good reviews about thermorexin. I've taken ephedra on the two-week-off, but would like to find an alternative.
