do you guys think i will not get muscle gains in a cycle ( var - test p ) with a ketogenic diet?
low carb diet will let my muscle grow with just protein and fat?
my goal is to get shred and shape ,
please let me know your opinions and recomendations.
thank you

its not a waste if you are cutting at all. goggle dave polumbos diet's

Keto can work well to shed fat. Its not my personal preference, because my performance gets affected too much by low carb dieting but it will work for your goal

Agreed. I've only ran it one time and ran for about 2-3 months. The fat fell off nicely but damn my performance and size really took a toll.

This is one of the biggest "broscience" myths out there, that you can't grow with the anabolic diet. The truth is, you'll grow a lot more with the anabolic diet, while you gain mass you'll also be shedding bodyfat like you've never seen. A bodyopus/anabolic version of the CKD is considered the most powerful bulker you can run during a cycle bar-none.

It is exactly what I would use if my goals were pure bodybuilding. However low carb amd cdk diets are terrible gor endurance training.

Low carb diets work very well for cutting. The added diuretic affect makes the dieting seem even more dramatic. Your muscles will still fill out even being in a calorie depleted state.

Even just gaining muscle and not losing any fat will make your body fat % go down.

anabolic/evolutionary diet works well with endurance - it's a myth that it's bad for endurance.

I am nit basing the statement on briscience. I am going from personal experience. When I try to run while cutting hard in carbs it absolutely kills my cardio. My endurance gets shot to shit.

It could possibly be that you weren't fully fat adapted. Either that or your carbs were still too high to prevent your body from burning fat optimally. Just my 2 cents.

I was two months into a low carb diet ingesting 50g or less a day.

When I refer to endurance training I'm not talking about 3-5 mile runs. I mean training for half-marathon and marathon distance obstacle races on mountain trails.

Hmmm. Maybe your calories weren't high enough. I'm guessing here. I'm going only my own personal experience.

However, I do know that Dr. Volek and another guy wrote a book about low carb diets for the endurance athlete. Check it out on Amazon. It's gotten some really good reviews.

BTW, in case you didn't know, Dr. Volek does a lot of low carb experiments and kinda "took over" the low carb world after Dr. Atkins passed away. He used to be a competitive powerlifter I believe, so he is really into how low carb diets work more towards athletes instead of the common layman.

I can tell you that many guys don't shift their metabolic phases, that's why they have problems with endurance. If the metabolic shift doesn't happen, you'll always have a problem. Even if you ran low carbs, if you didn't eat enough fat, you wouldn't be in a full metabolic shift - most guys are using protein for energy thinking they are in ketosis.

That being said, even if we assume everything you say is 110% and you were in ketosis. You can easily combine your refeed with a TKD modification and have a minimum 2 days (up to 3 days) post refeed where you would be getting more endurance than on a high-carb diet.
