Cutting workout

Im planning a cutting workout beginning mid January in-prep of the warmer months. (Yes I'm looking ahead). Now, what type of split is good for muscle preservation during a caloric deficit? I know its not good to go to failure, and I plan to add cardio either 2-3 days a week and lift 2-3 days (keeping them separate).

Anyone have a good plan for this? Are there any premade routines on that training methods sticky that would fit the bill?

not mcuh really needs to change
make sure you listen to your body though

teh whole cutting routien comes from being in the final stages of contest prep, when you can be really depleated and you are not gonna be able to do as much
