cutting question

while bulking, its easy to eat everything in site--whole foods are a necesity--but while cutting, can i just load up on protein shakes, if im getting 250/300 grams per day??? or to maintain size, must i still eat about 5 whole food meals?
 
Try to eat whole meals because they are better for you and you get more natural nutrition unlike protein shakes where they add stuff to them use the protein shakes for added protein to your diet you get more vitamins and minerals out of whole foods
 
Yes, I'll echo the rest of the gang and agree that whole foods remain a necessity - even when cutting...

Essentially...you should be eating the same foods - only less of them (i.e., you are "cutting" calories along with body fat and, ideally, minimal muscle mass).
 
i don't see anything wrong with replacing a meal or 2 with a protein shake, some flax and some fiber.
