I got a bill in the mail this morning from A&A Contract Custom Broker Ltd. Can someone explain to me what the fuck I'm being charged $43 for? Also if I don't pay it, will this mean my future packages will be held up by customs (or even opened). I have a package comming soon and the last thing I want is customs to have it. thanks in advance.
Attached please find a copy of your commercial invoice covering a shipment which was brought into Canada by fedex ground. A&A contract customs brokers ltd. is the in-house customs broker for fedex ground.
To expedite delivery of these goods, and to avoid costly and time-consuming COD charges, this shipment has been released under Canada Customs' Courier LVS (low value shipment) program.
Although these goods have now been released by Canada customs, and may even have been received by you prior to the arrival of this letter, the law requires that duty and/or gst/pst must still be accounted for. Fedex ground relies on the integrity of the canadian importer to remit all funds owing.
Attached, please find our proforma invoice detailing the ammount of duty and/or gst/pst and our brokerage charge applicable to these goods.
Please chood one of the following.
(1) If you already have a canadain customs broker, please advise us e-mail, fax or telephon.
(2) If you wish to by credit card blah blah
(3) If you wish to pay by cheque blah blah
(4) If for any reason you refuse this shipment, please fill out the forms below and fax or mail it to us iimmediaty.
