Crum, others, can you lose muscle and gain fat at the same time?

I've seen lots of great bulking/mass building cycles on these boards, and an equal number of extreme fat loss cycles... all very efficacious, all giving their respective results very quickly. My question is this: Is it possible to do both at the same time? Can one lose fat (at a modest but constant rate) AND gain muscle (again, at a modest pace) SIMULTANEOUSLY? Or, is this physiologically impossible?

I'm doing it right now. On Crums diet, eating a shitload of protein (400g/day), and losing fat and gaining muscle. Squats and deads continue to get stronger every week, as well as a few upper body lifts. Last week I noticed I leaned out a good bit, and my bodyweight didn't change at all.

Legs are getting thicker BTW, and so are my arms for some reason.

JG1 what's your energy level on this diet?

I tried low carb once and I was devastated, I could not even make it to the gym.

yes alot of people do, but not everyone does, and the rate is not as fast as just eating good and lifting. You can do both. Alot of poeple do by accident because they bust they ass in the gym.

Are you on gear now and if so what & how much? Do you look bigger/more muscular? I've been tossing around the idea of trying Crum's diet for a while now...

No, not on any gear at all right now. That will change soon though :). My legs definitely look bigger, and my upper body looks tighter and harder, at about the same fullness as before.

The original version.

meal#3
9.5-10oz Salmon

meal#4
9.5-10oz Salmon
broccoli

meal#5
60g Whey
1Tbs Flax Oil

meal#6
9.5-10oz 93% Lean Ground Beef

I

I am on the diet you can check out my logs, but My legs have deffintely been growing, and I know im not losing any mass, at my gym people keep asking me how much weight im gaining, and im like none, it looks like you are getting bigger when you get cutter. But if you are mildly overweight and havent been lifting as hard as you should and kick it into high gear fat loss and Muscle gain is very possiable, if you get the eating plan down just right the results are downrigh amazing.

Give it 8 weeks of your life instead of wondering how great you could look find out. You owe it to yourself to look your best this summer, and for the rest of your life.
