Creating the ULTIMATE physique

Lately I have been contemplating if this is possible...... To change your workout program to make certain muscles grow and just maintain or slowly grow others so that you can get perfect porportions or bring up lagging bodyparts. Is this possible, like for example if I wanted to bring up my CHEST, ABS and BICEPS I'd have a 4 day split that looked like this......

Day1 : Chest, biceps abs
day2:Legs
Day 3: chest biceps abs
Day 4: tricep shoulder back

I mean granted you would need to have good recovery I.E. steroids lol, but would this be a succesfull workout plan or something like this maybe? I have been doing something this for 3-4 weeks, seen some type of sucess but not sure since well you can't make some bodyparts catch up in just 4 weeks!!!!

Opinions?

You can emphasize certain bodyparts, however you can't force them to grow. It all depends on your genetics. For weak bodyparts I always train them first and in the beginning of the week. That way I hit them when I have the most energy. I'll also do more sets and exercises with them.

I only train each bodypart once a week. That's all they need. Training them more than that will most likely cause you to shrink instead of grow. I train all out though. I guess if you are training half ass then you could do it.

Before you say "well Arnold trained everything twice a week". Well Arnold was a genetic freak on lots of drugs. Save yourself the frustration and don't try to do what he did.

1day????????That's not enough recovery time. If anything you will breakdown the muscle you're trying to build. If I was you and wanted to do that, I would just hit those body parts that are lagging, every 3 days. And all other body parts, use light weights and work them out on other days. And eat ALOT!!!!

Your best bet would be to split it up something like this:
Day1: chest,tri,abs
Day2:legs
Day3:off
Day4:off
Day5:chest,tris,abs
Day6:shoulders,bis,back

This is kind of what damnitman was gettin at i think and he is right on. You need to make sure that you hit those lagging bodyparts hard and heavy and give them plenty of recovery time. Also you have to eat to grow as I'm sure anyone on here would tell you. Best of luck bro!

yes, its called bodybuilding.........when you are going to step on stage fixing the lagging parts is part of the game!!!

Just to destroy the myth that "if you train abs a lot you will get great abs", I hardly ever train abs. It's not necessary and I don't feel it does much. You've all seen my abs so that should be proof enough that all you have to do is be lean and have the genetics to have great abs. Getting lean comes from dieting, not crunches.

Do you suggest doing something like I'm doing, and on my (allready huge body part day) Should I still go hard? and with reg. # of sets?

Do them twice a week 72 hours apart... Something Like wr66 said... I've read that Muscles are recovered after 72hrs. Also alternate excerises for each body part within the week.

They are recovered after 72hours, only if you eat enough. Only food will repair the muscle.
