Creatine

what is everyone's favorite brand of creatine. I think i'm gonna start using it in addition to my protein that i'm now using (just starting out bodybuilding). Are there any other supplements that i should look into? Also i'm currently using ON's 100% Whey vanilla protein and was thinking to changing to ON's Pro complex. Is this a good move? which tastes better chocolate or vanilla?

I always go with chocolate for my protein but everyone has their preferance as for the creatine i take straight creatine monohydrate cause it is much cheaper....
 
thanks...anyone else...i've also been lookin into that swole v2 stuff and SAN v12...what do you guys think about them? i wanna get big quick :)
 
i've heard that creatine causes people to break out in acne....i'm just taking care of a pretty bad case of acne i've had for a few years so is there something that i should do instead of creatine? I don't really wanna get involved in juice now....so what would you guys recommend?
 
been using creatine for a while now, I take 10 grams a day 2 weeks on, 1 week off. No acne problem what so ever. Start eating about 1 gram of protein per lb of your body weight.
 
Been using creatine for a couple of months now, no acne problems.

Go for 100% pure monohydrate creatine, don't buy any of that other flavored crap. I use it in cycles, one month on, one month off, your body builds a tolerance after a while if you just keep taking it. Some people and products recommend loading creatine, meaning that you take about 20g a day for 5 days (each serving is about 5g, so 4 servings spread out through out the day), others say you don't have to. I loaded on my first cycle, and found that I did not have to load when I started the next cycle. I just use 10g a day (5g before workout and 5g after or take wit hmeals on non WO days).

what about cell volumizers like swole v2 though...i've read somethings that make me want to go directly to that. Also i was talking about protein flavor not creatine.
 
No... just get basic creatine. Any "transport formula" or "cell volumizer" is just basic creatine + sugar + some stuff that people claim help it absorb but with no scientific evidence to support it. Yes we know insulin helps transport, but only when you eat copious amounts of sugar (ie, 80 grams)
 
ok i'll try the basic creatine, anyone else think Syntrax swole v2 and SAN v12 are bullshit and i should just go with basic creatine?
 
Should I look into using either R-ALA, or Dextrose, or both....I'm not sure...i've kinda just started out so maybe I should hold off. What do you guys think?
 
Dextrose and ALA do drifferent things.

Dextrose is basically glucose with about a 100 GI, meaning that it is quickly absorbed by the body. It is good to take it post WO with prot because your body needs energy to repair your recently strained muscles and as the dextrose is absorbed, it also shuttles the protein to your mucles.

ALA is generally taken by people on low carb diets, specially CKD, and I think that it either prevents insulin spikes or the absorbtion of the carbs when they get turned into fat. It is generally taken on refeed days. I'm sure some one will correct me on this one.

Do some reading and I'm sure you'll get the correct explanations.
