Creatine question

I don't know if its too soon to notice a change but, I see results using Creatine. I've only been on it for 2 weeks & I can see a difference when I use dumbells on my arms. I am able to do more reps & overall have more stamina to push myself to do that extra bit of work. I also noticed my arms are much more pumped up after using the weights & swollen in a good way. I feel like I have more strength in a workout. Wish I would have used it sooner.

The funny thing is.. I am only taking about 2-3 grams a day. There is creatine in my Dymatize mass Gainer & I take 2 big shakes a day. I wonder if my results would be even better if I used an actual creatine product with a higher dose. Should I add that to my supplements or is the 2-3 grams in my Dymatize shake enough?

I am one of those people who gets nothing from creatine. I could not be more jealous! :)
I still use it in my pwo shake. When I am more committed I will put it in my pre-wo shake too.

Bump.

I recently read an article (forgotten where) that said that men need 5 g of creatine and women need half that amount. so the 2 - 3 g you are doing should be perfect.
now there should be a better dosing recommendation because to say "men" need 5 g would mean a guy 170 lbs needs the same amount as a man that is 270 lbs.
probably not true. Im about 275 lbs so I do about 7 g a day. I mix mine in my pw drink with my jack3d. gets you goin and keeps you goin through the whole workout.

you drink a mass gainer? what are your goals?

I keep thinking, it has to be too soon for me to actually see results from the Creatine. However, I really do see a difference. Its a slight difference but, nevertheless enough for me to tell. I couldn't only get to a certaian point before & now I can push much harder & longer when using the weights. Time will tell peformance wise I suppose.

Slat, could you try perhaps a different brand &/or dose, Maybe that would make a difference??

PB, I'm glad to hear you say 2-3 grams sounds good. I am 120 lbs at 5'5 1/2 & want to reach 128-130. I have been putting on some firm weight with good muscle ton these past few months. I could easily put on some more weight & get away with it. I tend to like more of a hard body look on my frame.

Dani - Its like any supplement - using too much is just wasting it anyway. Creatine monohydrate is cheap, although some of the newer creatines do more for you. I think the powder mixed in a drink is still the best. I was looking at some capsules last week and you had to take like 10 of them a day to get the proper dose. Whereas the powder, for you like a half teaspoon a day is plenty.

So lets look at this a little bit... btw just for the record I love a hardbody woman.

How long have you been drinkin the weight gainer? Have you looked at how much sugar is in it? A lot of those just have extra sugars, which will just turn to fat if not burned off.

IMO it wld be better to use a whey protein or whey isolate protein with almost no sugar and then you dont have to worry abt putting on fat or burning it off later.

Putting on 10 lbs of muscle is something you can do. How quickly that happens kinda depends on how new all this is to your body. If you've never worked out, your body will initially adapt more quickly.

How long have you been training? How old are you? What type of exercises are you doing? How many reps per set usually? How much cardio? How is your diet? How often do you change up your training routine?

All of these factors will affect your success and the quality of weight you put on.

If you dont want to put these details out to the whole forum, PM me.
