Creatine and Timing

If this has been asked and/or answered, I apologize but when I did a search, I got no conclusive results.

I am getting ready to start using Creatine and would like to know the absolute best times to take it. From what I hear so far it's before and after a workout. And on off days, to try and take it around the same time of day as I usually take it. What are your opinions on that?

Also, should I mix it with gatorade or just drink it mixed in water?
 
depending the product i think it has recommended times...


i think on lifting days its right after lifting, none lifting days its when you wake up
 
getting reg. mic. creatine and mixing it with a simple sugar sports drink will save you money then buying creatine loaded with dextrose.

do you plan on doing a loading phase? its not neccesary.. but you will see results somewhat quicker. what is your weight? normally... its 20 grams for 5 days and then you cycle 10 grams a day... on and off days.... for about 10-12 weeks, then off for about 4.. then repeat the process....


after loading.. i used to take 5 grams before workout.. and 5 grams after as a recovery drink. then a lil bit later drink my protein shake.

you have to find what works for you the best... there are set guidlines you can follow... but thats is all they are GUIDELINES...... it may not work the best for you... the best way to find out.... is trial and error

for the average guy he's right you dont need to load, if you were a bodybuilder thats a different story.... most important time is right after lifting and when you wake up on non lifting days.

I've heard the acidity of sports drinks and juices destroys the fragile creatine. I take 5g 30min before workout and 5g right after workout. And only one 5ger on off days whever I get the chance.
 
I wasnt aware there was a large ammount of acid in a Gatorade. There sure as hell isnt any juice in it.

Grape juice isnt so acidic that it causes problems, or so 1/2 of the people who take it say.
 
I prefer to just take the scoop, put the creatine in my mouth and drink it down w/ water...gross yes, but at least u know ur getting all of it...

I take my creatine b4 workouts, after, and then a scoop right b4 i go to bed..no proven reason for that theory that i know of, but i figure since u grow while ur sleeping it cant hurt..
