I lived in East Texas for 13 years. I live in SC now. Never seen one but they have hit other towns around here and I have seen the destruction. That's about as close as I have gotten to one.

I went through Hurricane Hugo in 1989. Had 120mph winds here.

While old enough to remember seeing them.. I have probobly seen about 4. I saw the one that hit Jarald about 4-5 years ago.. tore right by my grandma's house, and then thru a albertsons.. Tore the albertsons/blockbuster clean thru.. a hole you could see strait thru it.. was crazy shit.. It was my birthday as a matter of fact... and was out doing things.. could see it as we were driving down the freeway back to my g'ma's house.

It was pretty scary for a bit.. could see signs of it from my gma's house.. thought it was going to go strait thru her house.. Luckily.. it picked up.. but then set back down to destroy the albertsons :p

It was a lvl 5 (thats the highest.. right?) when it hit Jarrel.. jarald.. whatever the town was called.. and then I think about a 3 when it hit near my grandma's house.

Hell.. I was 14, or 15.. Thought for a while it was gonna be my last birthday.

That one was an F-5 tornado if I remember correctly.

We had one about 30 miles from here. Did a lot of damage. It flattened a large Roses department store. Funny thing, we had just done a lot of work for that store about two weeks earlier.

I had a small tornado cross about 1/4 mile in front of me one day as I was driving home.:(

That was kind of interesting. :insane:

It was that same day. The funny thing was that the weather didn't look that bad. All of a sudden I looked ahead of me and there it was, crossing the road. It topped some large pine trees, and tore down a couple big signs, but that was about it.

I remembered seeing the videos on TV. My brother lives over there and it just missed them.
