Crazy lifting accident!

Tuesday I was doing leg presses with 630 lbs reppin easy while on my 2nd week of dbol,feelin crazy strong,I let the weight come down a little too far on a rep and Snap!!! Two of my lower ribs cracked,yeeeeeouch!I'm done for two weeks and then I can go back to light lifting for another two.None in my gym have ever seen this happen,a few heard the Snap!Oh well,I'll live.Watch out cuz anything can and will happen.
 
Must have been the pressure of getting scrunched up with the weight near your chest, kinda like an accordian.

That sucks. Imho, you don't need to go quite so low with leg presses, but to each his own. Hope you get healed quick man.
 
Did the same about 8 years ago! Gave up leg presses for good - Squats rule!
The leg press is a non-physiologic movement for you have decreased hip extension which in turn lessens hamstring & glute activation creating a Quad/ham imbalance and can lead to decreased knee stability as well increased pressure on the lumbar vertabrae if your form is poor and ROM excessive.

Sorry to hear that brother!! Im sure youll be back in no time!! Hardcore intensity though! I never could get very good depth on my leg presses. Keep KILLING that shit!!
 
Sorry to hear it bro, but things happen for a reason. Lose the Leg press. Stick with SQUATS! There's too much cheating, slacking off with the Leg press, I mean just watch people in the gym.....hands on knees, partially reps.....they do nothing but kill your knees..........

Only time I use the LP is for isolation, i.e. 1 leg presses, wt is light(er).........
 
That sucks, but also it could have been something far more serious. Best of wishes in you recovery and in making progress when you get back.

AAh you had the back pad , which should be adjustable, inclined up too far. People do that to make it look like they are lifting more weight as thier quads will hit thier chest and act as a "spot". I've never heard of someone hurting themselves doing it that way

I hope you get better soon. it'll be hard to workout anything with busted ribs

Thanks guys,common sense tells me to cut the LP's,I'll be back to it in another two weeks,just not heavy.I'll have to start the dbol cycle all over again,cuz I had to hit my pct after almost two weeks on.That's what really sucks.I love this site too,you guys are a bunch of supportive bro's,be careful in the gym. :wavey:
