yesterday i was playing basketball on gravel and slipped. i fell forward and caught myself with my hands, on the ground. my left palm has a pretty nasty bruise and i have a bench contest this coming weekend. what to do?

Temperature and time bro. A week should be plenty of time.

Is your prep during the week going to be heavy lifts or no?

btw....I've always loved that pic in your avatar:)

haha, yeah that pic rocks

my prep was going to be a heavy day tomorrow but now that doesnt look like its going to happen. the rest of the week is off

Don't know if you'd be willing to try this, but it may be something weird to check out.

Go buy some rollerblade gloves. They have solid, angled plastic at the palms(you'd have to see them to understand). My buddy chipped a small bone near his wrist and I bought him a pair of these. The plastic diverted the pressure far enough away from the damaged area so that he could press. I wouldn't go real heavy with them, but they may be something to look into assuming that your bruise is on the meat(heal) of your palm.

damn..i cant get into town before i could lift. i'll remember that though.

Soak your hand in hot water and epsom(sp) salt, then take some ibuprofen. Robert Fusner benched over 700lbs with a broken hand so a bruise won't slow you down.
