Recently I have been getting some serious side cramps while doing cardio. I do cardio 10 minuyes after lifting. I have tried drinking nothing for like 1.5 hours before hand and also sipping some water during my workout and still I cramp up. Any suggestions on how to avoid these cramps?

I always stretch my arm over my head on the side the cramps...You need to breath better..sounds like and maybe sip some gateraide while training....but sounds like you need to breath better....

1-2 gallons of water per day.

supplement Potassium and taurine. sodium:potassium ratio should be somewhere in the ballpark of a 2:1 ratio.

Take 1000-1200mg/night of Magnesium....build up to this dose. Start out at 500mg/night for a few days then increase it 250mg/night accordingly. Too much too soon will give ya the shits.

I've always called this the fatboy side cramp. Ive gotten it all my life when running and jogging. I just recently started running and I have been doing about 2miles in 22mins and about 3 more minutes of walking making it around 25minutes per session and by the second mile my side usually starts to hurt. like everyone else said it is most likely due to being out of shape but I know i must be working fairly hard if it hurts so I keep going. I plateaud out on my weight for a while but since ive been running (and eating more strict) I have dropped about 10lbs in 3 weeks and steadily dropping. I used to weigh 282, so over the last 5 years i've only done ellyptical training and walking on incline for my cardio. now that im actually "running", the fat is melting off with a diet around 2000cals per day. just keep at it and you will get it. I'm determined to have a 6 pack, and starting from 282, I consider that a very difficult task :Chef:
