I just got back from court for a speeding ticket and the whole process is BS... First they huddle you all in a room and wait for that cop to come in to testify.. While listening to the cases, I found that the cop had the same testimony.. He only changed the streets and times... When it was my turn to go, he read the exact same thing as the 5 previous people... The only difference was that I never gave him my drivers license and asked him a question about the speed limit(b/c it was on a service road)... After he was done I explained to the judge that I never gave him a pix ID and that I asked him if it was a 50 mph speed limit instead of a 40mph.. The reason is b/c I don't live in the area and wasn't familiar w/ the service road being a lower speed limit then the parkway.. The service road I was on wasn't residential or commercial... I also asked the judge if she could take my prior driving record into account before making a decision..... The reason I told the judge this is b/c 3 people prior to me, the officer messed up the ticket and the judge threw out the cases.. I figured if I could show that he was incompetent in not completely stating the facts that he could be incompetent w/ working the radar gun or his job!!!
So what do I get?? A $140 fine and 4 points on my license!!! They only look back 18 months and don't take how many years or total driving history into account... I don't know why they even bother giving you the option to plead "Not guilty" b/c they really don't give a shit about the reason anyway..
Sorry but I just had to vent my frustration!!!
