Could someone help me with veins...?

kentucky

I don't have any surface veins on my right arm anywhere. But the left side has some pretty noticable ones??? Why is this so?

Will I get them as I life more? I'm still a newbie.

Where can I learn more about veins, I tried the search, but it''s pretty pointless with plat.

vascularity depends on genetics, water retention, BF% and how you train. If you don't train intense and squeeze every rep....you won't maximize your vascularity.

Takes time...

kentucky, you are on a low carb diet right? When I keep my carbs low I do not get as much of a pumped feeling in the muscles and veins to not show nearly as much as if I am all carbed up.

It's bodyfat. I'm a vascular lizard. At 220lbs I look like a freak. I'm taking my weight up now and I'm at 240lbs. I noticed a couple days ago that the vasularity was deminishing on my right shoulder... but not on my left. As the bodyfat goes up it starts to cover the vascularity... but not evenly.

If you drop your bodyfat a percentage point you should see some results on both sides.

There's a vein that goes down to the ring finger on your left hand, turns around, and becomes an artery that goes straight to you heart (or so people believed years ago). That's why you wear your wedding ring there.

That doesn't help your vascularity, but it's a fun little tid-bit about veins. ;)

:lmao:

Maybe a rep squeeze will help your veins stand out immediately, but I don't think there will be any long-terms vascularity from a deliberate squeezing...

doesn't endurance-type lifting bring out veins more than low reps? like my forearms and hands are veiny, and they do only holding through most workouts. my calves are muscular but barely veiny at all, and I use them for either really low-intensity things like walking, or explosive things like sprinting and jumping (never long periods of flexing like holding weights)

I know that higher rep ranges increase 'capillary density' but is that just within the muscle or on the surface too?

Im pretty tubby by my own standards, but still my forearms and hands are super veiny. I have those veins by my temples too. Makes no sense really heh. Genetics and ya that vascularity stuff up there. I train very intense and hard.

I like veins =o

BF%, genetics, etc, is what determines veins. I have noticed though, since the day I began training my viens have become bigger.
