For mental stress, I used Theanine at around 100 mg in the early afternoon and found it worked really well for me. It's actually supposed to change brain waves from beta waves (stress) to alpha waves (relaxation). I think Relacore has Theanine in it, but you can get it separately.

L-Theanine. Yes, it is awesome stuff. It is the amino acid in green tea that promotes relaxation. I take 200mg at a time. It promotes relaxation, but doesn't cause drowsiness. It's awesome.
I would try eating a little more too. Keep the good anabolic foods flowing. The other thing is just focus on what you can change and what you can't let it flow off. Relationship problems become the most irrational thing in the world. So do your best to stay level headed. Easier said than done. Good luck bro.
just to be clear, - theres 2 separate but relared issues here
1) relaxation to prevent stress released cortisol (but wont help with excercize induced cortisol) -- this is the valarians, chamomiles etc
2) preventing or reducing cortisol release or blunting its effect in the presense of stress. for this, Vitamin C in hi doses (2grams I think was the study dose) and also phosphatidylserine (as mentioned above) were effective at blunting excercize induced cortisol spike
glutamine reduces the effects of cortisol on muscle tissue. its given intravenously for example to burn patients (one of the most catabolic conditions) and post surgical. (use glutamine peptides)
the mechanism of action is written up as either suppression of myostain induced cortisol release, or blocking of the cortisol receptors in muscle cells thus protecting them from circulating cortisol (similar to the way nolva prevents circulating estrogen from causing gyno)
