Cornholio old school / cardio question

This is the original template for the Cornholio old school program:

Deadlifts 1 max set of 20.
Overhead Press - 5 sets of 5
Squats - 5 sets of 3
Seated Calf Raise - 2 sets of 20

Wednesday

Barbell Rows - 5 sets of 5
Bench Press - 5 sets of 5
Deadlifts - 1 set of 20
Standing Calf Raise - 2 sets of 20

Friday

Shrugs - 5 sets of 5
Barbell Curls - 5 sets of 5
Dips - 5 sets of 5
Squats - 5 sets of 5 with weight from Monday

Would adding 12-15 minutes of HIT cardio on monday and friday still enable me to gain mass while keeping BF in check. I plan to be bulking as cleanly as possible durring this period
 
i think you would be pretty much fried after that workout... i doubt you could keep up the intensity for long with that kind of volume... doing a set of 20rep "breathing" deads would probably cause the cardio afterwards to be non-existant, and it would interfere with your strength gains.
 
when i did that routine i didn't have the energy to do cardio at all. the routine got me real strong, but also beat the crap out of me. those 20's on deadlifts were rough
 
What's the point of the sets of 20 ?
