Cornholio aka The Shadow. I'm going to do the Old School Routine...

I'm going to chart everything again. My plan is to run it 4 weeks. Then switch to a higher rep routine. If that works, I'll just swap back and forth every month.

Hopefully some of the other guys will do it again as well. I think there was HappyScrappy, buggywhips, zebo... maybe a couple more.

Sup Dude??

Sitting here with my baby on my lap. Makes it hard to type.

I'm looking for some more of those magic results from your routine again. It made me sick to re-read that thread and realize I was squatting 300lbs for 5 reps.

The military has decimated my body. Between an Iraq deployment and injuries from overtraining during PT, I'm back to square one for strength. I'm going to flip between the Old School and a pure "bodybuilding" routine (don't know what yet) every month for 4 months. I plan to run creatine and some AIFM (might as well try it).

I'll try to transform a soft 208 into a hard 215.

Fro????!!!!!

By "bodybuilding" routine, I meant a traditional 1 bodypart per week routine shooting for reps in the 8-12 range. Basically something totally different from the Old School routine.

With the Old School, my goal is to gain weight and increase strength. It's great for that. I have different goal for the other routine. Besides giving my joints a break from the high weight/low reps, I want to work on muscle hardness and development.

But honestly I've been away from focusing on lifting for so long, I have no idea what my counterpart to the Old School should be.

Any ideas Shadow?

The once per week concept is pretty flawed. As another put it 'most of the research out there (and by most I mean all of it) favors training each bodypart multiple times per week.
