Cooling the Computer?

So I was looking as customer reviews on NewEgg, and was wondering why they're complaining about certain processors running too hot.

What's the problem with this? They're talking about a 2.8 GHz Pent 4, with 800 FSB running slightly too hot, but they say it's "still okay" if you have a cooling unit.

What's with this? I need to learn more about computers.

I think it's bullshit........they have been saying that AMD Athlon processors are notorious for running hot, but I haven't had any problem with mine and I've owned it since '01.

Every processor has a fan built in to cool it down and circulate air, but apparently some burn out, depending on workload, so they get the repuation as "running hot". Personally I think it's all dependant on what programs you run and how much strain you put on your computer by running multiple programs, thus draining your resources.

Holla back, Lil' Nugga.......

Well I have 27% system resources left on this thing after it's been on for a day, thus it freezing or me having to restart it. Not enough memory, and I'm pretty sure I got some sort of virus from somewhere. No virus software - I don't trust it to detect things usually.

Anyway, cooling is probably retarded. Whatever.

Ahh okay, good call Radar. Thanks to the both of you.

Either of you nuckas wanna check my designing a comp thread? I need advice. Maybe.

More compressed die (.13 microns).
The "800 FSB" is a misnomer...It's frequency is 200Mhz with bandwidth quad-pumped.

I been crimpin' AMD since I caught the PC bug/

Huh? Run that by me again, ulcaster? .13 microns? Lost on that.

As for the 200 MHz freq. quad-pumped, how you know that, and does it really matter?

lower die size (in microns) it gets, more transistors = more heat.

If you asking, then it's not important...It's fast.
