We're looking for some cool new things for members to do with their Karma points <img src="http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/images/reputation/ltgreen.gif"><img src="http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/images/reputation/ltgreen.gif"><img src="http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/images/reputation/ltgreen.gif"><img src="http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/images/reputation/ltgreen.gif">. We were thinking it might be cool to make it even more of a currency here on Elite. What can we do to make your Karma points even more valuable?
For those that don't know about karma, karma hits are the green currency of the Elite Fitness.com Discussion Forums. It looks like this <img src="http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/images/reputation/ltgreen.gif"> and appears next to a member's posts. When you read a post on the forums that you like, take your mouse and touch a member's Karma Ying Yang, the small icon that look like this <img src="http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/images/buttons/reputation.gif">, and let the member know that you approve of his or her posts. You can also leave a little note if you really think the post was helpful. It's a cool way to give props to all the members on the forum. If you dislike a member's post, you can give him "negative Karma" by disapproving of his post when you use your mouse to touch his Ying Yang.
One idea was for regular members to be able to look at Platinum gallery images and pay for each picture that they view with Karma points.
Another idea was for regular members to be able to use the Platinum search and pay in Karma points.
Another idea was for regular members to be able to buy a temporary Platinum Membership with their karma points
Or perhaps regular members could access the private Platinum boards or Platinum Chat and pay for that with Karma points.
What could we let Platinum Members do with their karma points?
Perhaps Plats could give a temporary Platinum upgrade to a regular member for a certain number of Karma points.
Or how could Plats spend their Karma to enhance the bombing feature?
You also get more Karma when you become a Platinum Member of the forums. You get 100 Karma hits for each month of a Platinum Membership that you invest in. Get a Month to Month membership and you get 100 Karma hits when you join and 100 more EVERY time your membership renews. Choose the three month membership which includes a fourth month free, and you'll get 400 karma hits when you join plus 400 more every time the membership renews. The six month membership includes three months free, 900 Karma hits plus a 200 karma hit bonus. The one year membership comes with 7 months free, 1900 karma hits plus a 500 karma hit bonus. And the Lifetime membership includes 10,000 karma hits.
