converting avi to mpeg files???

hey all

anyone know of a program tha can convert avie files to mpeg to be burned... i have a great collecton on my comp that i would like to bur to disc to view.. if any one can help point me in the direction of a program to do this i would greatly appriciate..

flaskmpeg will do it i believe...search the net for it

Ulead VideoStudio will do this, although it's more for video editing, the source it uses is an AVI file and it outputs in MPEG. I use this for my Digital Camcorder. Here's the link for the trial version:

Otherwise, go with the tmpeg encorder that Human mentioned above for just a basic conversion.
