controlled delivery?

I was just curious how a controlled delivery works....I am guessing that the law dogs come to your house delivering a package and bust you in the act of signing for it?
Any way a buddy of mine got some stuff and it was delivered today...he was not supposed to have to sigh for it, but it was brought to him and he had to sigh for it...now for some reason he is tripping balls....I told him to chill the fuck out that if it was they would have already bust his ass...(not really knowing...just trying to calm him) Is it legit to say he is alright? Any body out there ever been involved in in something like this? cheers

Common sense says they would of already busted him. Although it's not a good idea to sign for something illegal, just because you have to sign for something doesn't mean it's a controlled delivery. Thousands of people sign for mail everyday. It is a common practice.

well thats what i figured...but being new to this stuff and not actually knowing the exact process of how it works just thought i would ask....

Putting return to sender or wrong address on the package isn't going to save you if you have possession.

Agreed. Possesion is everything whether it's signed for or not. You can always use a fake signiture and name but if it's on you, you're busted.


There's some discrepancy with the package. If it is not open and "Wrong adress- return to sender" is written on it, it taints their evidence. But you'll still be dealing with court time.

Agreed. If they see you ordered a package, your name is on it, and you have possession of it, they're not going to give a rats ass if you put return-to-sender on it. If you were really returning it to sender it would be in the mailbox. LE isn't that dumb. Hell, they have probably read people say "put return to sender" on many websites.

The best thing to do is not keep anything at your house. Possession is 9/10ths the law.
