I mean we all come up with ideas and thoughts. We Talk and talk and talk things to death. Deferent ways to do pct. Deferent ways to run cycles. How to run our diets. How to train. There is so many damn deferent ways to do things from cycles to diets it makes the head spin. We read new things every day. How many of us get a plan and stick with it though. How many of use get right down to it. Get out a note pad and wright down are whole plan. Diet, training, cycle, pct and everything we can think off. Then stick to the plan. I feel it takes at least 6-8 weeks to know if something is working for you or not. I beleive whole heartedly in instinctive training. Learning from your self and learning from your own body. Sticking with a game plan and writing every thing down so you can learn from it.

Instinctive training has been around for ever but its so over looked. People always want some one else's work out, cycle, and diet. Yes thats how you start out. You learn from others, learn whats working for the masses. I feel that every one should lesson to there own body though. get out a note book and right down every day of your life. Right down what you eat,how it made you feel. Right down how you trained and how that made you feel for the day. lesson to your body and all it tells you. Write your whole life down. Knowing your self and your own body is the only way to reaching greatness. Sticking with a plan and learning from it for yourself.

How many people wright every thing down. How many of you are dedicated to learning from your own body.

I only use instinctive training. I've learned through lifting to listen to my body. While currently I'm not on a diet except the eat whatever you can to bulk (which is a lot harder all natural lol) but necessary for me to put on mass, I can't wait to start my actually get ripped diet. I used to listen to other people and do workout that my body didn't really react to that well. I found what works for me and I really learned to listen to my body. I usually never write down stuff though, I should but really haven't needed to as I know where my strength level is and I can remember what I did last workout (somehow I remember that but not my anniversary lol) But yeah I can't emphasize enough on how you should really listen to your body. When it can't go you shouldn't try to force it. I know when I need a week off, and when I take that week I usually get stronger without even working out. Remember your central nervous system is taking serious abuse from your workouts and if you don't rest properly you are only hurting your gains. Also don't do workout routines from fat old guys in the gym that do half reps lol.......even though they are more than willing to give you advice. Great post Needto. I'm glad they made you a Mod, your doing a great job!

I seem to just keep making my worst parts better and when they get up to par it offsets another part, then I'll emphasize on that part till IT gets up to par and so on.

good post. i completely belive in instinctive training. i may get a few ideas here and there from people on what works for them but never do i take it to heart cuz i am not them. i continually learn new stuff all the time just from trying new things to see what can i do to make this or that area better. for example my biceps never had a peak til recently i just kept trying new things over periods of time til i finally found out that concentration curls make them peak.

great post needto!

yah what ive learned is that i get extremely sore muscles after i work out. well you might say "yah but thats what should happen", but when i compare it to many others, my body just doesnt seem to recover as fast as others. If thats not enough i seem to plateau even faster, i curse my genes for this. therefore, i need to take things a little slower to prep myself for when i change up my workout plan. i up'd my glutamine intake and started to taking some better quality multi vits, that seems to help.

its key that one must workout for a long time to determine their own body and how it reacts and have a concrete diet plan before even considering gear.

I currently am logging training, diet and gear. I like being this organized, it perpetuates progress.

Keeping a log of your training is excellent! I used to do it all the time. Now it just gets too time consuming.

I have found that I have to write everything down, especially when dieting cause I get so STUPID in the last few weeks of a diet, get confused, doubt what I am doing, wonder what I am supposed to do next.

Even after 7 or so comps, everytime.

My journals have become invaluable, I have had people go WHAT you ate HOW many carbs and calories and lost fat, I don't believe it.

I would think to myself, maybe I did get it wrong, and then I will go back to my records (laid out daily and in weekly charts with average amounts of macronutrient), and go WOW, I was eating that many carbs and calories and got ripped.

Or when I have thought I haven't made any progress, then check my measurements, or how much I was lifting when I went heavy last time, and find out it has increased, just so motivating, I know I am on track.

If not, all you have to go on is your memory and your feelings, which can be HIGHLY unreliable.

The training intuitively is important too. Just because my journal or diet says, no one more day low carb, or you have to train X today, but I am just really tired, I will modify things according to 'listening to my body'.

While it is great getting advice, sometimes that advice is JUST NOT GOING TO WORK FOR YOU, even though it may have worked for 20 other people.

I have completely messed up comps listening to and following the advice of others against my intuition.......................

I log my training and diet pretty regular. And I train to suit my own body. My workout might be considered weak by some and overdoing it by others. But MY body is good with it.

I like the way you look at training, by shaping it around your own "intuition" ad "gut" instincts...very nice.

nice. i am the same way people say my workouts are really short but they work for me so who cares what they say.(most the time its people that spend little or no time in the gym or just look like shit)

It helps so that you don't hide from your fuckups either. You can't underestimate how bad you ate for example if you log down 4 pieces of pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving dinner. Or how many workouts you missed. If you don't write it down you tend to think it was just a couple or I ate shitty only a few times last month.

It's like being in control of your finances. If you don't do it this way, you are actually just hiding from the truth.

LOL, I am starting to apply what I have learned about being organised with training, studying, working in the lab, to my finances.

I do think if you are organised in one area, you can apply the same 'winning' principles to another.

good thread bro.

I keep a log of every workout every rep. When I see a certain exercises drops a rep or isn't going anywhere change it up.. My food I cook all day every day so that something I always remember how much I ate depending in the time and if I workout yet. I like to keep track cause I know what I do that fucks up and sets me back..
